Narutaru o La Titanomaquia Moderna.

In the beginning of the universe, Uranus ruled with absolute power, but when he saw how strong his descendants, the Titans, became, he became a dictator to maintain his position as ruler. When the titans were attacked, they rebelled against the authority of his father and, guided by Crono, overthrew his father, thus becoming Crono, the first patricide in history. Curiously it was Cronus who, out of fear of losing his power, who ate his children in order not to be overthrown, causing a rebellion led by Zeus to go down in history in a poem known as the Gigantomachy.

Sadly, the poem did not survive to our days, but thanks to the cyclical nature of humanity, it could be said that in 1998 its reincarnation began to take shape in an unsuspected work created in the East by a Japanese named Mohiro Kitoh. The work in question has a rather nice short name called Narutaru and whose art seems more what we would expect from works like Pokémon or Candy Candy.

But do not be fooled by the misleading image that your drawing presents us in the manga or by the most perverse act that could come out of the mind of a Japanese artist when designing the opening its inadequate adaptation to anime, we are facing a work that yes bien is not perfect in its narrative and its own depth makes it misinterpreted and reduced to just a work that wants to become too dark for its own good.

As another daughter of the iconic 90s, we are facing a work that quite critically questions the society in which it was born, a Japan that went through the closest thing to an economic apocalypse that can exist in a society as ordered and stretched as the Japanese. , economic crisis, unemployment, depression, suicide, social pressure and terrorist attacks. It is in this breeding ground that what was necessary was gathered to produce well-remembered works of worship such as Evangelion, a work that uses Judeo-Christian elements together with three-dimensional characters and action to give a speech about depression in a rather bittersweet way and that is away from the typical optimism that one finds in a more common work. A work that certainly has its reminiscences in Narutaru, only that Kitoh decides not to limit himself in criticizing the Japanese context of relationships and directly attack Japanese society in the perhaps least symbolic way that exists, a generational war, children against children. adults, those who come against those who are, a true Titanomachy.

But let's start by clarifying a bit that Narutaru is (despite how cute his name sounds, its full translation is "The dead star and the girl's jewel") a manga that resembles the genre "mon" (like Pokémon, Digimon and other mon) only with the difference that it is a full-fledged Seinen, the first chapters can be quite misleading, with an 11-year-old girl named Shiina encountering a strange star-shaped creature named Hoshimaru and next to him. will be involved in increasingly radical circumstances involving other children with their own creatures called "dragon children". Although the anime seems a little less, the manga leaves clues from its beginning but it does not take long to reveal its true nature ...

We are before a work that talks about the growth process in the middle of a society that in the author's vision is cold and inhuman and that, like Cronos, devours his children. Our beloved protagonist is quite common in this type of work, innocent, optimistic, full of energy and considerate of everyone, a quite adorable character who has before her a journey that will show her the harshness of society and of those with ideas for change it.

And it is precisely in the symbolisms where the work shines, although it may sin in the development of characters by drops at least in the secondary ones, it loads most of its chapters, situations, names and even forms with symbols that lead us to mythological components , philosophical and psychoanalytical that are worth analyzing to deepen and understand the cryptic message of its author (something like in Eva but here the references do matter).

Part 1: Call to Arms

Like a star...

Shiina's life could not be more peaceful, a little girl who has a father who works as a pilot is going to spend her vacations on the island where her grandparents live. In the midst of the hullabaloo of the holidays and suspending her task of drawing a picture of her dreams, for how she would say they are so big to overflow a sheet of paper.

After this and a close encounter with death when feeling called by something at the bottom of the sea, she ends up meeting hers, adorable of hers? companion who will hold the title Hoshimaru, the round star and will become his faithful companion and in the rest of the first volumes we will have a parade of characters and situations that introduce us to the characters as well as establishing the bases of the work:

These words said at the beginning of the second volume by the first of the "villains" to appear, Komori, a young man with quite interesting ideals not to call them genocidal, who now that he has obtained a power that can be considered unlimited thanks to the apparent immortality of his dragon child along with his ability to control matter plans to carry out, destroy society as it is known and create a new one, more natural in his own words where only the worthy survive.

It is in that sentence where one of the central themes of Narutaru is defined, we will know later but Komori is part of a group with dragon children, a group that dissatisfied with the current world yearns to destroy it to start a new society, "kill the father" to form a new order. Unfortunately for Komori, his arrogance ends up leading him to his death for Hoshimaru and leaving Shiina and her new friend Sakura traumatized.

By this point we have been let to know that the military and other governments throughout the world are reporting the appearance of dragons, monstrous flying beings that fly over the earth without disturbing humanity and Komori gives us a cryptic light by describing them as memory. of the stars.

Before fully analyzing the existence of dragons, it is necessary to see the struggle of ideals that remains subtle in the pages and that is rarely confronted directly, but that is a fundamental part of the message:

Part 2: Chaos vs Nothing

Now Shiina knows, the world is a dangerous place, both she and her father have been close to death, so she decides to take the initiative and search for information that leads her to the residents of chaos, Tsutumaru and Norio, two characters with Quite mysterious purposes but they are part of the faction that can be defined as Chaos in its purest expression: Life.

First we have Takeo Tsurumaru who the manga will describe as Homo Demens, there is no place for ethics, politics or anything else, he more than changing everyone, he changes his environment adapting and corrupting only his surroundings rather than A specific objective, to protect Shiina, in fact is revealed on more than one occasion as her guardian and that is that Tsurumaru is the guardian of humanity. He represents the desire to survive, perpetuate life and therefore the chaos that this entails. Next to him is the always faithful and moody Norio, a transvestite who seems to be in love with him, but who will not recognize him. From Norio I only have to add what was done in the attached reference.

We will call their nemesis and their counterparts as they are often called in some pages, those from the east of Fuji, a quite symbolic place where the first armed encounter between the "dragon children" and the military takes place, an encounter narrated in all its splendor in volume 4 and that shows us without hesitation what young people are willing to do to achieve their revolution, although the main instigator is Naozumi Sudo, a deeply nihilistic and misanthropic young man who with quite firm philosophies, is the main one in charge of directing the fall of humanity, our apparent Zeus who will take to the last consequences his desire to end the existing order, considering it decadent and obsolete. In fact, he is the one who, in a conversation with a teacher, reveals the meaning of the taboo that surrounds patricide, murdering parents is equivalent to ending those who hold power.

Parte 3: La danza eterna

Es aquí donde Kitoh agrega un concepto de filosofía relativamente desconocido a la historia cíclica de la Titanomaquia, el blanco dentro de lo negro y lo negro en lo blanco y  es aqui donde entra en juego el personaje mas misterioso, la joven Kuri que parece tener la misma edad que Shiina, donde Shiina siente un aprecio de la vida y un deseo de ayudar, Kuri muestra una total indiferencia hacia los seres humanos y sus normas así como su sufrimiento. Ellas son la encarnación del Yin y Yang y las elegidas por el gran dragon "Sheol". 

Part 4: Children Chosen by the Stars

Tsurumaru and Norio: Guardians of Shiina who protect her while manipulating situations so that Shiina can witness the key stories throughout the manga. Tsurumaru being Shiina's main link after her father, since she is she begins to show an affection that she cannot express and that protects her in all circumstances at the cost of her own life.

Kyoji: Character who takes us into his little story, shows us his plan to help his friend to be independent and move on, while he talks about how dragons are born, through the fusion between the "dragon child" and the user It is only when these come together that an immortal and indifferent to human affairs is born that will dedicate itself to resounding the memories of the one who was its bearer at some point, being a reminder left for posterity.

Hiroko: But it is finally in Hiroko, a character introduced in volume 2 that shows us where and why the "dragon children" arise from, these are beings that are not alive as we have the concept of life, they are rather entities that seek a user, someone who keeps for himself discomfort, hatred, sadness, hopelessness, all those extreme feelings towards life, society and adults. Behavior that is reflected in the use that each one gives to their dragon, in the case of Akira, she hides her dragon, as she hides her abuse and suffering, Kyoji who accepted her suffering to finally abandon everything to finally become one with it and leave it as a message for humanity. In Hiroko's case it is quite obvious and tragic, a girl brutally abused in her school, with cold parents who do not listen to her but who impose constant pressure on her to be perfect, such a mind can hold if the soul is good and Selfless, but as the manga shows, everyone has a limit and the pressure that society put on her was such that she gave birth to a monster.

"Eyes of a victim, hands of an aggressor"

With that theme we are introduced in a long and tortuous chapter where we will see Shiina only for moments, this is Hiroko's moment, at least until the end. Hiroko sends out an important message in both actions and words. When meeting Sakura, he exposes that no matter how hard the world tries, it does not stop beating her, but where Sakura decides to direct the guilt inwards, Hiroko directs it outwards, she knows that she is not the culprit but when she reaches her limit everything that no longer matters, the victim whom society abandoned becomes the threat that must be destroyed. With an ending where our clueless protagonist barely found out what happened, she cannot but have to put an end to the monster that society created. But even with everything, Shiina is still standing, receives the blow and accepts it without being corrupted or losing her idealism and her desire to help.

Robert Franklin: It is in the story of Robert Franklin that we see how Shiina still upholds her ideals, risking her life to help a fellow man who is seen brutally under attack, a fellow man who has received blows from life and humanity. It is something that he does until the end and even decides to risk when he sees Sakura in the area all to end with the revelation of Tsurumaru and Hoshimaru only to end up being killed by humanity.

After his resurrection we see how he is about to break but still maintains his composure, when the final dance is unleashed, he continues trying to save humanity despite everything and even when he finally manages to reconcile with his past and be able to access Sheol he uses his ability to save the world.

Part 5: And the hatred built up to the heavens ...

And we come to the end, where Naozumi caused a nuclear war leading humanity to change, the order will never be the same again, but Cronos has not died, the surviving society is so corrupted and decadent that it cannot bear the existence of someone like Shiina, someone who possesses all the power in the world cannot be tolerated so the mobs mercilessly attack Shiina destroying the few remaining people on earth. It is only in this moment that we see Sheol in all his splendor.

If the dragons are formed from the negative emotions of the young, Sheol represents the complete failure of humanity, ignored the requests for help of the young, all the traces of suffering that society ignores to survive, all the times the pressure made That society ate its own children, leading them to suicide and marginalization finally accumulated and hatred reached the heavens that the entire earth is a dragon, Sheol, the tomb of humanity. Such a great entity is supported by Yin and Yang, Shiina and Kuri, the light of goodness embodied and the darkness of indifference as well as hatred made person.

Even before the last attack of humanity, Shiina does not defend herself, she is ready to die with everything she loves, she has lost her desire to live, so she lets the destruction embodied in Kuri destroy humanity, she no longer defends it , He no longer has mercy on it, he finally succeeded, humanity stained the only pure soul and with this it destroyed itself.

This is how in modern titanomachy, the ambition to stay in power caused its destruction and a disenchanted Zeus inherited the earth, Shiina has no desire to live, she wonders if humanity deserves a chance and it is not until Kuri shows her the drawing he made at the beginning of the work, that thing he most wanted, a dream so big that it could overflow from the sheet of paper and cover the whole earth: A drawing of his family together.

Al final vemos a dos jóvenes andando libremente y exudando amor, Shiina encontro la fuerza de vivir, a pesar de todo le dio una segunda oportunidad a la humanidad, porque a diferiencia de lo nihilista que pudiera sonar el final, es una carta de esperanza, una nota que a pesar de lo horrible que puede llegar a ser la humanidad puede cambiar, puede perdonarse y crear una sociedad mejor.

En el principio del universo, gobernaba con poder absoluto Urano, pero este al ver lo fuertes que se volvían sus descendientes, los titanes, se volvió un dictador para mantener su posición de gobernante. Los titanes al verse atacados se rebelaron contra la autoridad de su padre y guiados por Crono derrocaron a su padre, convirtiéndose Crono así, en el primer patricida de la historia. Curiosamente fue Crono el que por miedo a perder su poder el que se comió a sus hijos para no ser derrocado, lo que causo que una rebelión dirigida por Zeus que pasara a la historia en un poema conocido como la Gigantomaquia. 

Tristemente el poema no sobrevivió a nuestros días, pero gracias a la naturaleza cíclica de la humanidad podría decirse que en 1998 se comenzaba a gestar su reencarnación en una obra insospechada creada en oriente por un japonés llamado Mohiro Kitoh. La obra en cuestión tiene un nombre corto bastante agradable llamada Narutaru y cuya arte parece mas lo que esperaríamos de obras como Pokémon o Candy Candy. 

Pero no se dejen engañar por la imagen engañosa que nos presenta su dibujo en el manga o por el acto mas perverso que pudo salir de la mente de un artista japonés al diseñar el opening su poco adecuada adaptación al anime, estamos ante una obra que si bien no es perfecta en su narrativa y su propia profundidad hace que sea mal interpretada y reducida a solo una obra que quiere hacerse demasiado oscura para su propio bien.  

Como otra hija de los icónicos 90s estamos ante una obra que cuestiona de manera bastante critica la sociedad en la que fue gestada, un Japón que paso por lo mas parecido a un apocalipsis económico que pueda existir en una sociedad tan ordenada y estirada como la japonesa, crisis económicas, desempleo, depresión, suicidio, presión social y ataques terroristas. Es en este caldo de cultivo que se reunió lo necesario para que salieron obras de culto bien recordadas como Evangelion obra que usa los elementos judeo-cristianos junto con personajes tridimensionales y acción para dar un discurso sobre la depresión de una manera bastante agridulce y que se aleja del típico optimismo que uno encuentra en una obra mas común. Una obra que ciertamente tiene sus reminiscencias en Narutaru, solo que Kitoh decide no limitarse en la critica al contexto japonés de las relaciones y atacar directamente a la sociedad japonesa de la manera tal vez menos simbólica que existe, una guerra generacional, los niños contra los adultos, los que vienen contra los que están, una autentica Titanomaquia. 

Pero comencemos aclarando un poco que es Narutaru (a pesar de lo lindo que suena su nombre, su traducción completa es "La estrella muerta y la joya de la chica") una manga que asemeja al genero "mon" (como Pokémon, Digimon y otros mon) solo que con la diferencia que es un Seinen a toda regla, los primeros capítulos pueden ser bastante engañosos, con una niña de 11 años llamada Shiina encontrando a una extraña criatura con forma de estrella al que pone nombre Hoshimaru y junto a el se vera envuelta en circunstancias cada vez mas radicales que involucran a otros niños con sus propias criaturas llamadas "niños dragón". Si bien el anime lo aparenta un poco menos, el manga va dejando pistas desde su inicio pero no tarda mucho en revelar su verdadera naturaleza...

Estamos ante una obra que habla del proceso de crecer en medio de una sociedad que a visión del autor es fría e inhumana y que al igual que Cronos devora a sus hijos. Nuestra querida protagonista es una bastante común en este tipo de obras, inocente, optimista, llena de energía y considerada con todos, un personaje bastante adorable que tiene ante si, un viaje que le mostrara la dureza de la sociedad y de aquellos con ideas para cambiarla. 

Y es justo en los simbolismos donde brilla la obra, si bien puede pecar en el desarrollo de personajes a cuenta gotas al menos en los secundarios, carga la mayoría de sus capítulos, situaciones, nombres y hasta formas con símbolos que nos dirigen a componentes mitológicos, filosóficos y psicoanalíticos que vale la pena analizar para profundizar y entender el críptico mensaje de su autor (algo así como en Eva pero aqui las referencias si importan).

Parte 1: Llamada a las armas

Como una estrella...

La vida de Shiina no podria ser mas apacible, una pequeña que tiene un padre que trabaja como piloto va a pasar sus vacaciones a la isla donde vive sus abuelos. En medio de la algarabía propia de las vacaciones y suspendiendo su tarea de hacer un dibujo de sus sueños, por como ella diria ser tan grandes para desbordar una hoja de papel. 

Tras esto y un encuentro cercano con la muerte al sentirse llamada por algo en el fondo del mar, termina conociendo a su ¿adorable? compañero que ostentara el titulo Hoshimaru, la estrella redonda y se volverá su compañero fiel y en el resto de los primeros volúmenes tendremos un desfile de personajes y situaciones que nos van presentando a los personajes así como estableciendo las bases de la obra:

Cuando no encajas en ninguna parte del mundo, ¿qué deberías hacer? deberías hacer? Tallarse para adaptarse al mundo...? ... o tallar el mundo para que se adapte a usted?!"

Estas palabras dichas a inicios del segundo tomo por el primero de los "villanos" en aparecer, Komori, un joven con ideales bastante interesantes por no llamarlos genocidas, que ahora que a obtenido un poder que se puede considerar ilimitado gracias a la aparente inmortalidad de su niño dragón junto con su habilidad para controlar la materia planea llevar acabo, destruir a la sociedad tal y como se conoce y crear una nueva, mas natural en sus propias palabras donde solo los dignos sobrevivan. 

Es en esa frase donde se define uno de los temas centrales de Narutaru, lo sabremos mas adelante pero Komori forma parte de un grupo con niños dragón, grupo que inconforme con el mundo actual anhela destruirlo para iniciar una nueva sociedad, "matar al padre" para formar un nuevo orden. Lastimosamente para Komori, su arrogancia termina llevándolo a la muerte por Hoshimaru y dejando a Shiina y su nueva amiga Sakura traumatizadas.  

Para este punto se nos ha dejado saber que los militares y otros gobiernos a lo largo del mundo están reportando la aparición de dragones, seres voladores monstruosos que sobrevuelan la tierra sin molestar a la humanidad y Komori nos da una luz criptica al describirlos como la memoria de las estrellas.

Antes de analizar de lleno la existencia de los dragones es necesario ver la lucha de ideales que se mantiene sutil en las paginas y que rara vez se confronta de forma directa, pero que forma parte fundamental del mensaje:

Parte 2: Caos vs Nada

Ahora Shiina lo sabe, el mundo es un lugar peligroso, tanto ella como su padre han estado cerca de la muerte, por lo que decide tomar la iniciativa y buscar información que la lleva hacia los residentes del caos, Tsutumaru y Norio, dos personajes con propósitos bastante misteriosos pero forman parte de la facción que puede definir como el Caos en su mas pura expresión: La vida.

Primero tenemos a Takeo Tsurumaru el que el manga describirá como el Homo Demens, ya no hay lugar para la etica, la política ni ninguna otra cosa, el mas que cambiar a todo el mundo, cambia su entorno adaptándose y corrompiendo solo su alrededor mas que un objetivo en concreto, proteger a Shiina, de hecho se revela en mas de una ocasión como su guardián y es que Tsurumaru es el guardián de la humanidad. Representa el deseo de sobrevivir, perpetuar la vida y por tanto el caos que esta conlleva. Junto a el esta el siempre fiel y malhumorado Norio, un travesti que parece estar enamorado de el, pero que no lo reconocerá. De Norio no tengo mas que agregar que lo que se hizo en la referencia anexa. 

Sus nemesis y sus contrapartes los llamaremos como se les suele nombrar en algunas paginas, los del este del Fuji, lugar bastante simbólico donde se da lugar el primer encuentro armado entre los "niños dragón" y los militares, un encuentro narrado en todo su esplendor en el tomo 4 y que nos muestra sin reparos lo que están dispuestos a hacer los jóvenes para lograr su revolucion, aunque el principal instigador es Naozumi Sudo, un joven profundamente nihilista y misántropo que con filosofias bastante firmes, es el principal encargado de dirigir la caída de la humanidad, nuestro aparente Zeus que llevara hasta las ultimas consecuencias su deseo de acabar con el orden existente por considerarlo decadente y obsoleto. De hecho es el quien en una conversación con una profesora nos revela el significado del tabu que rodea al parricidio, el asesinar a los padres equivale a acabar con quienes llevan el poder.

Komori: Siendo el primer personaje que atiente contra su vida y es quien le muestra que hay mas portadores de dragón que tienen propósitos nefastos, haciendo que Shiina sea mas perspicaz y cuidadosa, al menos un poco. 

Sakura: la primer "aliada" de Shiina, una chica tímida y que detesta a dragon, a lo largo de su desarrollo vemos como aunque intenta buscar la fuerza para salir de la depresión extrema y deseos suicidas con la ayuda de Shiina, la intervención de los del este del Fuji va orillándola poco a poco a otro tipo de ideas, por mas que lucha con su esfuerzo termina cayendo en crisis y asesinando a su padre, el origen de su sufrimiento al ser victima de violencia sexual de su padre. Shiina no puede sino ver como su amiga se derrumbo al mismo tiempo que otra tragedia siendo un golpe duro a su psique. 

El este del Fuji: La banda de Naozumi pocas veces tiene contacto directo con Shiina, pero en la mayoría se muestran como enemigos y con actos llenos de crueldad hacen ver a Shiina que debe tomar acción contra ellos o para defenderse de ellos.

Tsurumaru y Norio: Guardianes de Shiina que la protegen a la vez que manipulan situaciones para que Shiina pueda ser testigo de las historias claves a lo largo del manga. Siendo Tsurumaru el lazo principal de Shiina despues de su padre, pues esta comienza a mostrar un afecto que no puede expresar y que la protege en todas las circunstancias a costa de su propia vida. 

Kyoji: Personaje que nos mete en su pequeña historia, nos muestra su plan para ayudar a su amiga a poder ser independiente y continuar adelante, mientras que nos habla de como nacen los dragones, mediante la fusion entre el "niño dragon" y el usuario, es solo cuando estos se juntan que se da a luz un ser inmortal e indiferente a los asuntos humanos que se dedicara a resonar los recuerdos del que en algún momento fue su portador, siendo un recordatorio dejado para la posteridad. 

Hiroko: Pero es finalmente en Hiroko, personaje introducido en el 2 tomo que se nos muestra de donde y porque surgen los "niños dragón", estos son seres que no están vivos como se tiene el concepto de vida, son mas bien entidades que buscan un usuario, alguien que guarde para si incomodidad, odio, tristeza, desesperanza, todos esos sentimientos extremos hacia la vida, la sociedad y los adultos. Comportamiento que se ve reflejado en el uso que le da cada uno a su dragón, en el caso de Akira, ella esconde su dragón, como esconde su abuso y sufrimiento, Kyoji que acepto su sufrimiento para finalmente abandonar todo para finalmente hacerse uno con el y dejarlo como mensaje para la humanidad. En el caso de Hiroko es bastante obvio y trágico, una chica abusada brutalmente en su escuela, con padres fríos que no la escuchan pero que le imponen una presión constante para que sea perfecta., una mente asi puede aguantar si el alma es buena y abnegada, pero como lo muestra el manga, todos tienen un limite y la presión que la sociedad puso en ella fue tal que dio a luz un monstruo. 

"Ojos de una victima, manos de un agresor"

Con ese tema se nos introduce en un largo y tortuoso capitulo donde veremos a Shiina solo por momentos, ese es el momento de Hiroko, al menos hasta el final. Hiroko lanza un mensaje importante tanto en acciones como en palabras. Al encontrarse con Sakura, expone que por mas que se esfuerza el mundo no deja de golpearla, pero donde Sakura decide dirigir la culpa hacia el interior, Hiroko lo dirige hacia afuera, ella sabe que no es la culpable pero cuando llega a su limite todo eso deja de importar, la victima a la que la sociedad abandono se convierte en la amenaza que debe ser destruida. Con un final donde nuestra despistada protagonista apenas y se entero de lo ocurrido no puede sino tener que poner fin al monstruo que la sociedad creo. Pero aun con todo, Shiina sigue de pie, recibe el golpe y lo acepta sin corromperse ni perder su idealismo y sus ganas de ayudar. 

Robert Franklin: Es en la historia de Robert Franklin que vemos como Shiina aun sostiene sus ideales, arriesgando su vida para ayudar a un semejante que se ve brutalmente bajo ataque, un semejante que ha recibido golpes de la vida y de la humanidad. Es algo que hace hasta el final e incluso decide arriesgarse cuando ve a Sakura en la zona todo para terminar con la revelación de Tsurumaru y Hoshimaru solo para terminar siendo asesinada por la humanidad.

Después de su resurrección vemos como esta apunto de quebrarse pero aun mantiene la compostura, cuando el baile final se desata sigue tratando de salvar a la humanidad a pesar de todo e incluso cuando logra finalmente reconciliarse con su pasado y poder acceder a Sheol usa su habilidad para salvar al mundo.

Parte 5: Y el odio se acumulo hasta los cielos...

Y llegamos al final, donde Naozumi causo una guerra nuclear orillando a la humanidad al cambio, el orden jamás volverá a ser lo mismo, pero Cronos no ha muerto, la sociedad sobreviviente esta tan corrompida y decadente que no puede soportar la existencia de alguien como Shiina, alguien que posee todo el poder del mundo no puede ser tolerado por lo que las turbas atacan sin piedad a Shiina destruyendo a las pocas personas que le quedaban en la tierra. Es solo en este momento que vemos a Sheol en todo su esplendor. 

Si los dragones se forman de las emociones negativas de los jóvenes, Sheol representa el completo fracaso de la humanidad, desoyó las pedidos de ayuda de los jóvenes, todas las huellas del sufrimiento que la sociedad ignora para sobrevivir, todas las veces que la presión hizo que la sociedad se comiera a sus propios hijos orillándolos al suicidio y marginación finalmente se acumularon y el odio llego hasta los cielos que la tierra entera es un dragón, el Sheol, la tumba de la humanidad. Una entidad tan grande es soportada por el Yin y el Yang, Shiina y Kuri, la luz de la bondad encarnada y la oscuridad de la indiferencia así como el odio hecho persona. 

Aun ante el ultimo ataque de la humanidad, Shiina no se defiende, esta lista para morir con todo lo que ama, a perdido su deseo de vivir, por lo que deja que la destrucción encarnada en Kuri acabe con la humanidad, ya no la defiende, ya no tiene misericordia de esta, finalmente lo logro, la humanidad mancho la única alma pura  y con esto se destruyo a si misma. 

Es así como en la moderna titanomaquia, la ambición por mantenerse en el poder causo su destrucción y un Zeus desencantado heredo la tierra, Shiina no tiene deseos de vivir, se cuestiona si la humanidad merece una oportunidad y no es sino hasta que Kuri le muestra el dibujo que hizo al principio de la obra, aquella cosa que mas deseaba, un sueño tan grande capaz de desbordarse de la hoja de papel y abarcar toda la tierra: Un dibujo de su familia junta. 

Al final vemos a dos jovenes andando libremente y exudando amor, Shiina encontro la fuerza de vivir, a pesar de todo le dio una segunda oportunidad a la humanidad, porque a diferiencia de lo nihilista que pudiera sonar el final, es una carta de esperanza, una nota que a pesar de lo horrible que puede llegar a ser la humanidad puede cambiar, puede perdonarse y crear una sociedad mejor. 

Al final tal vez Zeus volverá a ser derrocado, el Uruboros se tragara así mismo nuevamente y la decadencia alcanzara a la humanidad nuevamente...

O incluso puede que no...
